Ways to Work Together

Thoughtful creative work, structured around what you need.

No two creative projects are exactly alike. Some require a few focused hours, while others call for research, concept development, multiple deliverables, revisions, and ongoing creative direction.

My approach to pricing reflects the time, thought, and resources that go into creating work that is intentional, effective, and tailored to you.

Depending on the scope and needs of your project, there are several ways we can work together.

Hourly Design

For focused projects and individual creative needs.

Many design projects are based on my current hourly rate. This approach works especially well for smaller assignments, updates to existing materials, individual marketing pieces, and projects where the scope may evolve along the way.

Before beginning, we will discuss what you need and, whenever possible, I will provide an estimate of the time involved.

Hourly design may include:

• Marketing and promotional materials
• Print and digital design
• Updates to existing creative work
• Social media graphics
• Presentation materials
• Publication and layout design
• General creative support

Any additional expenses required specifically for your project, such as premium fonts, stock photography, printing, specialty materials, or other third-party resources, will be discussed and quoted separately.

Larger Projects

For work requiring a broader creative scope.

Some creative work requires more than a straightforward hourly assignment.

Brand development, campaigns, multi-piece collateral systems, publications, and other larger projects may involve research, creative direction, concept development, production, revisions, and the creation of multiple final assets.

For these projects, I provide a custom estimate based on the anticipated time, materials, and resources needed to bring the work to life.

Your project estimate may consider:

• Overall project scope
• Number and complexity of deliverables
• Research and concept development
• Estimated creative and production time
• Revision requirements
• Photography or additional creative services
• Materials and third-party resources
• Final file preparation and delivery

This approach allows us to establish clear expectations from the beginning while leaving enough flexibility for the creative process to develop thoughtfully.

Consistent creative support when you need it.

For businesses and organizations with recurring design needs, a creative retainer provides ongoing access to my services through a set amount of reserved creative time each month.

Instead of starting a new estimate for every individual request, we can establish an ongoing working relationship that allows me to become more familiar with your brand, goals, audience, and existing materials.

Over time, that familiarity can make the creative process more efficient, consistent, and collaborative.

A creative retainer may be a good fit if you regularly need:

• Marketing collateral
• Social media and digital graphics
• Advertising materials
• Publication or editorial design
• Brand consistency and creative oversight
• Updates to existing materials
• General design support

How Retainers Work

We will determine an appropriate number of creative hours to reserve each month based on your anticipated needs.

Your reserved time can then be used across a variety of agreed-upon creative projects throughout the month.

Retainer clients receive priority scheduling within my workload, making this option particularly useful for organizations that need dependable creative support on an ongoing basis.

I track time against your available monthly hours so you have a clear understanding of how that creative time is being used.

If a project or request is expected to exceed your available retainer hours, I will discuss it with you before additional work is completed. Additional time can then be approved and billed at my current hourly rate.

Outside expenses such as printing, premium fonts, stock imagery, specialty materials, or other third-party resources are handled separately.

Retainer arrangements can also be revisited periodically to make sure the amount of reserved time continues to fit your creative needs.

Not Sure What You Need?

That is completely okay.

You do not need to know which structure fits your project before reaching out. Tell me a little about what you are creating, what you hope to accomplish, and the timeline you have in mind.

From there, I can recommend an approach that makes sense for the work.

Have something in mind?

Let’s talk about what you’re creating.
